5Smiling  Mar 28, 2011 By ch2490
I love this lotion. I actually alternate this with another designer skin product and have had great results. The main reason I love this lotion is the smell. It smells great and I always use this one if I'm planning to go somewhere after I tan. Instead of having the tanning bed stinch, I actually had someone ask yesterday what I was wearing that smelled so good.

4good lotion  Mar 17, 2011 By talzzyogi
I really like this tanning lotion. Ive been through 1 bottle that I purchased @ the tanning salon & the second I purchased here. Love the smell and goes on smoothly...not too thick. I rotate between smile your darker and bombshell. those 2 are my favs right now. so far so good ...have a pretty nice tan.

Don't let this bottle with the big smiley face on it fool you. This is a great lotion it smells great, tans great I am very pleased with it and will continue to buy this product and the price is perfect. I noticed I was getting darker after first use and I have been tanning all summer. you have to try it :)

4Great but doesn't smell the same!  Mar 04, 2011 By Mallory
I got this lotion after using the original Smile You're Dark, and I must say I was not disappointed. It's fairly moisturizing and I built color a lot faster than with the original. However, the one thing I was a little upset about was that it does not smell as good as the first edition Smile! If it had all the same characteristics, with the original smell, it would totally be five stars!!!

5Great Medium-Strength Designer Skin Lotion  Dec 23, 2011 By Struggling77
So, this isn't in the category of Luminary or Obisidian, but it is a great lotion to throw into the mix. I use different lotions every day after reading that it helps get you darker by providing a more broad spectrum of light coverage. Right now I have 6 bottles of lotion (5 Designer Skin and 1 bottle of Australian Gold's Sinfully Black,) and this is a nice, affordable lotion with a pleasant, tropical smell that isn't overpoweringly feminine by nature. As for how effective this lotion is, I can't really say because as I mentioned I use a different lotion every day (the only thing that stays the same is my facial tanning lotions which was Designer Skins Luminary for a long time, but for the last few months I've been using Australian Gold's Crystal Faces. The facial lotions are great for keeping the face dark and a 3.4 to 4oz bottle lasts months.) I can tell you the mix I'm using right now; (Smile You're Dark, Smile You're Darker, Worship Me, Monarchy, Luminary, and just added Obsidian by Designer Skin...and I also just added a new bottle of Sinfully Black by Australian Gold.) I get comments all the time about how I look Mexican or how I'm going to have to switch races on my driver's license soon. I pay just over $27 a month for tanning at my salon for a daily 20 minutes in a regular bed of standard bulbs with 2 high pressure facial bronzers, and every week to 2 weeks I might pay $3.30 to upgrade to a Sunstorm bed which has burn bulbs above and bronzing bulbs below, so you do 10 minutes on each side for an even, dark, amplified tan. I used to pay $8 a week for an upgrade to an Ultimate Bed which had stronger regular bulbs plus five 35k to 45k watt high pressure facial bronzers, and once a month I'd pay for a double dip upgrade ($16 for 20 minutes in an Ultimate Bed to open the pores, and then hop into a spray-on tanning booth to touch up and even out my tan.) I took 2 months off this year after getting a $250 tattoo (didn't want it to fade,) and since being back I haven't put nearly as much money into keeping my tan up, but I'm already getting comments and compliments about how dark I am again, and I haven't even been back to tanning for 2 months yet. I paid $17 with free shipping for this bottle of lotion on Amazon, and at my salon this would cost $50-$60...so I'd say yes; this lotion is definitely worth the price. Not to mention it has a thin, creamy consistency, so it goes a long way. I recommend all Designer Skin bronzing lotions on Amazon, and even a few Australian Gold (such as Sinfully Black,) for the same reasons; good tan, smooth, thin consistency that lasts a long time, and a dark, even tan. I stay away from tingle lotions because they tend to leave me with blotchy, spotty tans (even if they do get me dark faster, it doesn't seem worth it in the long run or in other words if you tan as often as I do.) Overall, though, I don't think you can beat Amazon when it comes to tanning. If you've been to a tanning salon lately, and you've seen the prices on their bottles of lotion, you know what I mean. Stick to Sealed Tanning Lotions, A-Z Wholesale Tanning, theeTanMan, or anything fulfilled by Amazon, and you can't seem to go wrong, at least so far I haven't.
